Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Shushuo Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales, of 7 Copperfield Road, Coventry, West Midlands, CV2 4AQ, United Kingdom (“Edit9”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use edit9.app, its API or its MCP server (together, “the service”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Edit9, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to buy a plan or credits. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for any API key you create; keep both secure, and tell us at [email protected] if you think either has been misused.

2. The service

Edit9 turns what you describe into designs, using AI models. We are still building it: features will change, some will be added and some removed. We will give reasonable notice before removing anything you pay for.

3. Plans, credits and payment

  • Starting new work — a new creative direction, or generating a picture — spends credits. Resizing, re-rendering and exporting what you have already made do not.
  • Paid plans renew monthly, and each month’s credits last until the month ends. Credit packs bought separately do not expire while your account exists, and are spent only after your plan’s monthly credits are gone.
  • A run that fails or does not finish is not charged.
  • You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for; it then does not renew.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay, including any tax that applies.

If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. Because credits are digital content supplied immediately, you ask us to supply them straight away and accept that the right to cancel ends once you start using them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including where something we supply is faulty or not as described.

4. Your content

You own what you bring to Edit9 — your text, your pictures, your instructions — and the designs you make with it. You give us a licence to host, process, render and transmit that content only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to the model providers described in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep by law.

You must have the rights to what you upload. The templates, fonts and other material we provide remain ours or our licensors’; you may use them in designs you make with Edit9, and some fonts come with their own licence terms.

5. AI-generated output

AI output can be wrong, and can resemble existing work. Check everything before you publish it — including text, claims, and whether a design infringes anyone else’s rights. We do not guarantee that output is unique or free of third-party rights.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use Edit9 to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy;
  • make content that sexualises minors, harasses or threatens people, or promotes violence or hatred;
  • impersonate a person or organisation, or mislead people about who is speaking;
  • attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get round its limits, credits or security;
  • resell or share access to your account or your API keys.

7. Suspension and ending

You can stop using Edit9 and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your work. If we close an account without cause, we will refund unused credits you paid for.

8. Liability

We provide Edit9 with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then; continuing to use Edit9 afterwards means you accept the new terms.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
